Becoming a Medical Malpractice Lawyer

It’s a shaky business — the medical field. And bad things happen all the time. Thankfully, you have some professionals out there that can work to the benefit of the patient who’s wronged somehow in the hospital, provided that the lawsuit is legitimate.

As one of the more higher skilled law practices in the industry, climbing the mountain to get to the top and become a full-fledged California medical malpractice attorney or Chicago medical malpractice attorney — or any city, for that matter — can be quite the adventure and a challenge, indeed. But here’s what you need to know:

  1. Graduate from college with a major in pre-law or business.
  2. Take the Law School Admission Test, or LSAT.
  3. Score high!
  4. After you’re phenomenal score is on paper, apply to as many law schools as possible.
  5. Why? Because many law schools have extremely high standards.
  6. When you finally find your law school, study for three years.
  7. Apply for as many clerkships at medical malpractice law firms as possible.
  8. Graduate from law school and then take (shudder!) the BAR EXAM.
  9. Recognize that the BAR EXAM is in capital letters, because this is the one test that will kill your brain.
  10. After reviving your brain from the apparent terror of the BAR EXAM, find a firm to work for.
  11. Pursue board certification, and guess what — you’re good to go!

It sounds pretty cut and dry — but just recognize that it’s a lot to do. If you’ve got the perseverance and strength for it, though, go for it. It’s a prestigious line of work. It has to be, though, with this list of requirements!

The future

Did you know that the average life expectancy in America is 78 but for a child born in 2010 it’s expected to reach 100 years!

The average person in the workforce changes jobs every five to ten years and will change career (not just jobs but whole focus of their working life!) at least three times in their working life!

Quite staggering really, when you think of it.  I mean three times in the forty five year working life we will go through the whole rigmarole of choosing a new career and possibly even training for it, that includes the expense of studying for it and looking for jobs.

What if there was a way of finding a whole field that was so big that no matter what you wanted to do next you’d find an opening in that field!

Just take Nursing for example. On average it takes two or three years study to become a nurse. Most of us only think of the person who helps the Doctor on the wards, but the role is so much bigger than that!

Say after five or ten years you want to work with older people, well then there’s nurses who specialize in working with older people (called a geriatric nurse) or maybe you want to move to work in the community, or anything else, the sky’s really the limit, and that’s just nursing!

By the way all you need to study to become a nurse is a decent high school education! If you’ve got a college degree then all the better, but you’ll be studying for a degree when you do your training. Oh I need to note that the training is a lot of hands on hard work.

At dcsna.org they can help you find that profession where you can be learning every day for the rest of your life.

Paying For Medical Education

Medical Insurance For People: Pet Insurance For Pets

With testimonials on pet health insurance, you can make sure you’re not paying a cent more than you have to. This is going to save you a lot of money when you’re trying to pay down medical school and all of the bills that come along with being a medical professional. All of those dollars you save will help you to get past the $200,000 bill and start being able to eat more than just ramen noodles in a dirty bowl that you can’t afford to wash.

Paying for medical education can be costly but there are some options which are definitely worth considering.

In order to pursue a career as a doctor you will need to study for many years of college or university education. Student loans are often available to help with the extremely high tuition fees needed to attend medical school (not to mention books, accommodation etc) and it is no surprise that many young doctors spend their first years working just to pay off their students loans. This could also account for the lack of ‘new blood’ entering the lower paid positions (family practice or pediatrics) with so much debts to be repaid they need to be earning as much as possible, and quickly.

There are, however, other options which you may find available to you for financing your way through medical school. They’re definitely worth checking out (unless you were lucky enough to be born to filthy rich parents).

Scholarships

You don’t always have to be top of the class to be chosen for a scholarship (although it would generally help). Scholarships are sometimes offered for different reasons, other than academic performance, and you may find that you can apply for a scholarship due to field of study or even minority status. You may also find that scholarships are offered by other organizations, other than the actual medical school. Check out the local corporations and organizations in your area, do a bit of digging, you never know what you might unearth.

Awards and Grants

Lots of universities and medical schools have awards which they offer for different criteria. You may find that you are eligible for an award because of your grades, volunteer work, athletic prowess or some other reason. These do vary a lot between the different universities and medical schools and are definitely worth checking out.

The Military

If you’re interested in a career in the armed forces, this may be just the ticket to pay for your medical education. Generally speaking, your health education and training will be paid for, in return for you serving your country for an agreed numbers of years. The longer you sign up for, the more education you can receive. Not a bad trade if it’s your sort of thing.

The U.S. Health Service Corps

If you want to follow a career as a physician or a nurse, this government program will fund a large part of your medical education in return for a number of years working in an underserved community or area. If you’re the kind of person who wouldn’t mind being relocated to a rural or under developed area for a few years, check out this option, it could be just what you need to fund your medical education.

Reimbursement by Employer

If you have had to fund your years at medical school with a student loan and ended up heavily in debt, there may be a way for you to get help in repaying the loan. When employed by some hospitals, you may find that they offer some student loan forgiveness as a part of their financial remuneration package. If you’re already up to your ears in debt and looking for employment, it’s definitely an option worth considering.

What Career

Do you know what the difference is between a dream and a goal? Yes there is a difference and it’s something to remember when you look at your dreams and try to see if they’ll ever become goals!

A goal is a dream with a deadline! That’s the only difference! Why? well because a dream is something we would like to achieve or someone we would like to become, but a goal says ‘By this date I will have achieved this’ and puts a date on when you will get there.

When I was a kid my dream was to be a Policeman,  I never turned it into a goal. I never set a date and became one! Many of us had a dream of working in the Medical Field. especially as a Doctor or Nurse but haven’t really done that much more about it?

Now is the time. Time to stop putting it off and make that move, there is a website that can help you with it.

At dcsna.org you can find all the information you need to help you with the planning of turning that dream into a goal. Not only that but you can get a sneak peak into what it will be like working in that dream profession that you want.

By the way, for all those who think that the Medical Field is all about doctors and Nurses, well you couldn’t be more wrong! Did you know that there are at least a hundred professions/careers that are needed on a daily basis by any given hospital! Everyone from Doctors to Dispatchers, Chefs to Cleaners! to name a few!

Get the idea. Don’t let your dream die! turn  it into a goal!

Finding The Career For You

A lot of people want to do the kind of work that they love, but there are very few out there who do the work they love. Many people feel lost about what they would be good at. Don’t feel bad if this is you because you are truly not alone. The fact is that finding the work you love is not always easy on the surface. However, it is true that it’s easier to weed out the work that you don’t love. If you are smart and you are committed to the process than you can find the job you want just by doing a little thinking.

The first thing you need to determine is what is the one thing that is most important to you about a job. For many it’s the money. For others its a sense of fulfillment, then others believe it’s about helping others. You have to decide what matters for you. If it’s money than that is what you need to set your sights on and don’t think about the other stuff.

The next thing you need to do is figure out what types of things you really love to do. If you have really loved baseball, for instance, then you will want to see if you can get a job in that field. While it’s impossible for many to play baseball for a living, there is no reason why you couldn’t work as part of an organization.

Don’t limit yourself either. You can do anything. The point is that if it’s something you really want, or if the goal of it suits your needs then you need to try that out and do everything in your power to make that a career for you. Don’t be blinded for a minute by doubter or those who think what you want is silly. You have to do work you can be happy with. Don’t worry about what others think.

Affording Nursing School

With the global economy in a state of chaos, you may feel like going back to school and changing careers is the only option you have. But college is so expensive. While you have worked and worked and worked, you have  only been able to save up a little bit of money for school. You know that if you could get your degree in nursing that your life would change, but nursing school seems so far out of your financial ability to pay for it that you just want to give up. While college and nursing school can be costly, you have more options available to you than you think.

First, as a nursing student, you can apply for and receive federal financial aide. This means that the government would give you money to help pay for nursing school. Depending on your ability to pay, the government may give you grants, scholarships, and loans with low interest rates. Some of these forms of financial aid do not need to be repaid. This means you get free money to go to nursing school! Also, your nursing school may offer work study programs through the local hospitals so that you can afford to attend this nursing school and get experience at the same time.

Secondly, you can do a quick internet search for private companies and groups who offer scholarships for a certain career field, ethnic minority, or interest. Maybe your family is Native American. You can search scholarships for Native Americans and see all of the groups offering free money for your ethnic group to attend school. See nursing school can be affordable if you take the time to research all of your options.
